What I’ll Do to Those Yet to Pay Certificate of Occupancy Fees – FCT Minister

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has confirmed that the deadline for land allottees to pay their Certificate of Occupancy fees will remain unchanged.

Those who fail to meet the payment deadline will see their land reassigned to others.

During an inspection of key infrastructure projects, including the 15-kilometre service carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway and the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal complex, Wike addressed concerns about the publication of defaulters’ names.

He clarified that the list was based on official records, assuring that individuals with proof of payment would not be affected, Naija News reports.

Wike further stated that the land allocation issue has been ongoing for up to a decade, and fulfilling payment obligations is crucial for the continued development of the FCT.

He also dismissed concerns about distractions, stating that complaints are inevitable in governance but will not hinder his commitment to advancing the territory’s infrastructure.
