…throw weight behind Ajayi
…their expressions reflect pain, anger, hunger – Olafeso

Market women in Ondo town have lamented the untold hardship brought upon them by the current administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at both the national and state levels.
The market women, who openly voiced their grievances during the Agboola Ajayi campaign rally, which toured Ondo East and West local government areas, expressed frustration at the high cost of living in Nigeria, particularly in Ondo State. They stated that the Aiyedatiwa-led administration had failed to meet their expectations.
Speaking with Starnews NG on Wednesday, the traders voiced their support for Agboola Ajayi, saying he is a preferred candidate over others contesting for the top seat in Ondo State.
“APC has failed us in Nigeria,” one of the market women retorted.
“Hunger is too much, we are tired of this administration; we want change,” another woman yelled.
“Agboola is who we’re rooting for. His mother is from Ondo town, and that’s why we’ll vote massively for him,” two women chorused.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State led Agboola Ajayi’s campaign to pay a courtesy visit to the Osemawe’s palace in Ondo town, where he sought support for the PDP candidate from the king and his high chiefs.
At a town hall meeting at the Osemawe’s palace, the Chairman of the Agboola Ajayi Campaign Council, Dr. Eddy Olafeso, introduced the PDP candidate to the king, Oba Dr Victor Adesimbo Kiladejo, and his council, pledging that Ajayi’s past achievements speak volumes about his character.
“Agboola Ajayi is a tested and trusted politician whom I can vouch for, considering his antecedents. He has solid plans for the state, and if elected, he would turn the state around for good,” said Olafeso.
“He’s a son of the soil, his mother is from Ondo town, and we implore you to support him in prayers,” the PDP chieftain added.
On his part, the PDP candidate, Agboola Ajayi, reiterated his seven-point agenda for the state if elected, reaffirming his resolve to serve the state to the best of his ability.
“The will of the people should prevail in every election; only the one whom God has destined to be governor will win the coming election,” Ajayi stated.
“We’re coming into the government of Ondo State to make a difference, and by God’s grace, we’ll do better than the current administration,” he assured.
Reacting to the market women’s outbursts on the hardship facing the country and their support for Ajayi, Olafeso highlighted that their gestures showed how frustrated and tired the people are with the APC government.
He asserted that Ajayi has a different approach to politics and would make a better governor for the Sunshine State.
