Fulani leaders and Ardos in Taraba State’s Muri Emirate have told the Emir that they will expose those responsible for the state’s continuous massacres and other terrible acts, as well as their backers.
Recall that during the recent Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Tafida, issued a 30-day ultimatum to killer herdsmen and their collaborators to leave his Emirate or face his wrath.
In a meeting of all their leaders from 14 of the state’s 16 local government districts, the Fulanis have offered their guarantee.
After the meeting with the Emir of Muri, Alhaji Sahabi Mahmoud, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), expressed delight that the deliberation was successful and profitable.
According to him, the meeting was attended by stakeholders besides the Fulani leaders and the Ardos in the state.
He explained, “We are not only on the same page with the emir, but we have pledged before him to support him and to expose those behind the heinous crimes soon.”
Alhaji Sahabi went on to say that they (the Fulanis) also agreed that there are some bad apples among them, and that all Fulani leaders and Ardos have been ordered to return to their various towns and root out these criminals.
Those who have repented should take their records and present their names to the traditional ruler for record keeping purposes, he said.
He promised that no criminal among them would be spared, even if they were their biological offspring, confessing that they are tired and, like the Emir, desire peace in their separate villages.
The meeting also determined, according to the Miyetti Allah chairman, to reveal informants as well as criminals’ supporters
