Warri-Itakpe Train to Resume Operations April 30

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that train services on the Warri-Itakpe route will start running again on April 30, 2025.

This comes after the service was put on hold on April 10 due to repeated engine failures and other technical problems that disrupted operations.

The NRC explained that its technical team has been working since the suspension to fix the problems and get the trains back in good condition.

After weeks of repairs, the corporation says everything is now in place for smooth travel.

From May 1, the trains will run six days a week—Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Sunday.

Thursdays will be set aside for maintenance work on both the tracks and the trains.

Passengers who asked for refunds during the break have received their money back, while those who did not can now reschedule their trips using the NRC’s online ticket platform.

The NRC thanked passengers for their patience and assured them of better service going forward.
