Video: Customs Begin Distribution Of Rice In Lagos

The Nigeria Customs Service has begun distribution of seized bags of rice to the public.

A viral video showed residents queuing to collect the rice from custom officials on Friday.

Unconfirmed report says residents are buying the rice at the rate of N10,000 per 25kg at the Lagos Customs zonal office, Sabo Yaba.

To purchase the rice, the NIN slip was mandatory according to the report.

The Customs Service said it received government approval to sell the seized food items at reduced prices to assist those in need.
