A Charity Organisation, Olumuyiwa Daramola Foundation, has commenced the drilling of Borehole Water to four communities in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency of Ondo State.
Starnews Nigeria reports that the beneficiary communities are Ode-Erinje, Ikoya, and Ode-Aye in Okitipupa Local Government Area, and Ode-Irele town in Irele Local Government Area, Ondo State.
In a statement by Tosin Ayejusunle, the drilling of the borehole has started with Ode Erinje community on Friday.
The Founder of Olumuyiwa Daramola Foundation, a United States-based Medical Doctor and the son of the former Minister of State, Niger Delta, Prof. Claudius Omoleye Daramola, said the communities were considered in the spirit of community development.
According to Daramola Jnr, the first phase of the project is targeted at market places of enlisted communities.
In the words of the Medical Doctor cum Philanthropist, “provision of basic amenities is the responsibility of everyone. Community development should not be left for the government and political office holders alone.”
“Developed countries were not developed by their governments alone but also by non-governmental organisations, individuals, and through social corporate responsibility of corporate organisations. Hence the first face of this borehole drilling in strategic areas of selected communities for the people to have access to potable water easily”, he said.
