UNILAG Warns Public Against Fraudulent Admission Offers

By Charles Maduka

The University of Lagos (UNILAG), through the office of the Vice-Chancellor, has issued a public warning against fraudulent “discretionary admission” offers being promoted by unauthorised individuals and groups.

This was contained in a statement on the university’s website on the 24th of October 2024.

According to the statement, all admissions are strictly managed through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and official university channels.

UNILAG firmly denied authorising any social media groups or third parties to offer special admission consideration.

The university emphasised that such offers are fraudulent and warned that both the providers and receivers of these illegal services are subject to legal consequences.

The institution urged the public not to fall victim to these scams, reminding everyone that any admission offers outside the official JAMB process are fake.

UNILAG also encouraged reporting suspicious activities through its official communication channels: [email protected] or [email protected].
