U.S. warns Iran against Missile Attack on Israel, vows Severe Consequences

The United States is warning of a potential imminent ballistic missile attack from Iran against Israel.

A senior White House official confirmed the news to Fox News on Tuesday, stressing the urgency of the situation.

“We are actively supporting defensive preparations to defend Israel against this attack. A direct military attack from Iran against Israel will carry severe consequences for Iran,” the official stated.

This warning comes after Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei praised the late Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, referring to him as “the flag-bearer of resistance” in the region.

“The blood of the martyr shall not go unavenged,” Khamenei declared after Nasrallah’s death last week in Beirut, Lebanon, which occurred during an Israeli airstrike, according to Reuters.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) announced the beginning of “limited, localised, and targeted ground raids” against the militant group Hezbollah in Lebanon on Tuesday.

The move comes after two weeks of bombing by the Jewish state. Over 1,000 people have reportedly been killed while about a million more have been displaced.

During the bombing campaign, the IDF killed several senior Hezbollah members, including the group’s long-time leader, Hassan Nasrallah.

An operation that led to the simultaneous explosion of communications devices belonging to members of the militant group also reportedly killed children as well as its intended targets.
