Two students of Bida poly found dead in Niger

 

Two students of the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State, have been found dead in a room at the FMC Quarters in Bida town, within the Bida Local Government Area of the state.

The lifeless bodies of the students, simply identified as Mr Bam and a female student, Aisha, were reportedly discovered on Sunday morning when they could not be seen after daybreak.

According to Daily Trust, sources said the deceased may have consumed poisonous food, leading to their death.

The Niger State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident on Monday.

He said that upon receipt of the complaint, the DPO of B Division, Bida, led police operatives to the scene. The door to the room was forcefully opened, and it was discovered that the bodies were lying on the floor in the sitting room.

“A leftover food and some tablets were discovered at the scene and were taken for medical analysis.

“There was no sign of struggle or any mark of violence observed on the bodies. The corpses were removed to the FMC Bida for autopsy. The incident is under investigation.”
