Two land in court for allegedly stealing man’s property worth N4m

 

Two men, Williams Ademola, 30, and Ajibola Alabi, 35, were arraigned on Thursday before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly stealing property worth N4,065,000.

The defendants, whose addresses were not disclosed, were charged with conspiracy and theft. Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Prosecutor Inspector Olusegun Adegboye informed the court that the alleged offences occurred between August 2023 and May 2024 in the Apata area of Ibadan.

Adegboye claimed that Ademola and Alabi stole various items belonging to Ayodeji Alexandra, which were under the care of Aderemi Olaoye. The stolen items reportedly included a television, fridge compressor, generator, jewelry, submersible borehole pump, hair dryers, iron rods, and other valuables.

Adegboye said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, S. Babalola granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Babalola thereafter adjourned the case until July 9 for hearing.
