Two die in Ondo after drinking concoction

 

Two persons have passed away in Isua Akoko, located in the Akoko South-East local government area of Ondo State, during an age group festival in the town.

The fatalities occurred due to consumption of a concoction during the festival.

The maker of the concoction, along with a middle-aged man visiting from Abuja, reportedly succumbed immediately after consuming it.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the spokesperson for the state police command, has confirmed the incident.

She said the victims died on their way to the hospital after vomiting.
She added that the other person who drank the herbal concoction with the duo is receiving treatment in the hospital.

She stressed, “A chief came and reported at Isua police station that one Ojulewa prepared a native concoction (Agbo) which he drank with 2 others and thereafter the trio started vomiting.
“While on their way to the hospital , the duo of Ojulewa Alex and Alonge Samuel gave up the ghost while Adu Johnson is in coma receiving medical treatment, investigation is on going”
