Two actors have tragically passed away following a house party in Owerri, Imo State, on Friday.
Reports indicated that the actors, whose identities have not yet been disclosed, attended the party after completing a movie shoot.
Sources revealed that during the gathering, the guests consumed rice, wine, and calypso provided by the movie’s director.
The celebration continued late into the night, but the director, who retired early, later woke up in the early hours of Friday to turn off the generator and switch to public electricity.
It was then that he discovered two people dead, and two others were struggling to survive.
A social media post by Kaito Karisia, who shared details of the incident on Facebook, mentioned that the surviving two males were receiving medical treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Owerri.
Meanwhile, the movie director and three women present at the party have been taken into police custody.
Imo State Police Command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident, noting that an investigation has begun to determine the cause of the deaths.
He assured that a pathologist would examine the deceased to uncover the cause, with a thorough investigation to follow.
“The command is aware of the unfortunate deaths, and the Commissioner of Police, Aboki Danjuma, has instructed a pathologist to conduct tests on the deceased. We assure the public that the investigation will be comprehensive, and the results will guide further actions,” Okoye stated.
