Tinubu’s Govt Dominated by More Dangerous Cabal – Ex-Minister Dalung

Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, has raised concerns over the presence of a powerful cabal allegedly controlling President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

In an interview on the Mic On podcast hosted by Seun Okinbaloye, Dalung claimed that a group of highly influential individuals has taken over key operations of the government, sidelining President Tinubu and shielding him from the realities of governance. According to him, the cabal has created barriers to prevent others from briefing the president on critical national issues.

Dalung described this cabal as sophisticated and experienced, having held power for years. He further compared it to the one in former President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, which he described as less competent and uninformed. He asserted that the current cabal’s depth of knowledge and control over power dynamics makes it more dangerous.

“The presidency in Nigeria has always had a cabal, and Tinubu’s cabal is the most sophisticated I’ve seen. It is worse than Buhari’s,” Dalung stated.

He continued: “Buhari’s cabal was made up of inexperienced individuals who often acted recklessly. Tinubu’s, however, is a group of informed and skilled individuals who have been in power for a long time. They understand power and how to use it, which makes them far more dangerous.”

Dalung’s remarks have sparked renewed debates about the role of unelected power brokers in shaping Nigeria’s governance.
