By Our Correspondent

The traditional ruler of the Ancient Umuofor Autonomous Community in Oguta, Imo State, HRM Eze Sheikh Abdulfatah F. Chimeze Emetumah, has urged President Bola Tinubu to grant freedom to Nnamdi Kanu as a goodwill gesture during the festive season.

The monarch made this request during an award ceremony in Owerri, where he was honored by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Eze Emetumah expressed that such an act would bring joy to the Igbo community during Christmas.

Additionally, the ruler praised Governor Hope Uzodimma for recent infrastructure developments and efforts to improve workers’ welfare in the state.

He encouraged ongoing collaboration between public relations professionals and the state government to foster unity and peace in the region.

The call echoes previous appeals from prominent groups, including Ohanaeze Ndigbo, for Kanu’s release as a gift to the Southeast.
