Reuben Abati, a co-host of Arise Television’s breakfast show and former presidential aide, reflected on the atmosphere during Monday’s media chat with President Bola Tinubu.
Abati, who was among the seven journalists present at Tinubu’s Lagos residence, described the President as someone who appears well-adjusted to his role.
According to Abati, the media team did not request advance questions, nor was there any pre-interview briefing with the President.
Tinubu reportedly walked onto the set unprepared and still managed to communicate effectively.
Abati noted Tinubu’s composure and readiness throughout the interview, adding that he made attempts to unsettle the President but found him unflappable.
The President, he said, exhibited a strong command of the discussion and appeared in good spirits.
He recommended that Tinubu’s media team organize similar engagements regularly to maintain open communication with Nigerians.
