President Bola Tinubu has been actively working to reduce crime and improve governance across Nigeria since assuming office, according to Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication.
In a statement released on December 18, Bwala praised the administration for introducing the Crime Experience and Security Perception Survey (CESPS) through the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), describing it as a crucial step in addressing security concerns and fostering data-driven governance.
Bwala explained that the CESPS provides valuable, evidence-based insights into the nation’s security situation, moving beyond assumptions and conjecture. The initiative, he said, offers a comprehensive breakdown of crime experiences across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, contributing to a clearer understanding of security challenges.
Highlighting the administration’s progress, Bwala pointed to a decrease in school attacks in Northern Nigeria as an example of improved security under President Tinubu’s leadership.
He also stressed that the administration’s economic policies, alongside security initiatives, are part of a broader effort to reshape Nigeria’s governance structure and build a more resilient and prosperous economy that benefits all citizens.
