Tinubu Approves Upgrade Of Maiduguri Airport To International Status

The Federal Government has approved the upgrade of Maiduguri Airport to international status.

This move ensures that every geopolitical zone in Nigeria now has an international airport.

Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication to President Bola Tinubu, shared the development on X.

He also announced that the African Aviation and Aerospace University (AAAU) in Abuja has officially commenced operations.

With this upgrade, Maiduguri Airport will now handle international flights, boosting air travel in the region and opening up more opportunities for trade and connectivity.

The government aims to strengthen Nigeria’s aviation sector and improve accessibility across different parts of the country.
