Three men land in court for stealing Volkswagen bus

 

On Tuesday, three men were brought before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, accused of stealing a Volkswagen T4 Bus worth N1.7 million.

The defendants, Anthony Onwotemi (51), Okechukwu Udeh (39), and Oluwafemi Olorunnisola (45), have been charged with conspiracy and theft, to which they pleaded not guilty.

According to the prosecutor, Ayodele Adeosun, the defendants, along with accomplices who are currently at large, allegedly committed the crimes around 7:32 p.m on April 24 at Mechanic Bus Stop, Iyana Isashi, Lagos.

Adeosun further stated that the defendants stole the Volkswagen bus, valued at N1.7 million, belonging to the complainant, Adeyemi Oluwanishola.

He said the defendants were caught while trying to sell the bus.

The chief magistrate, Patrick Adekomaiya, granted the defendants bail of N300,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.

Mr Adekomaiya adjourned the case until June 3 for mention.
