Senator Tofowomo Nicholas, representing the good people of Ondo south senatorial District at the Senate, who was involved in an accident on Friday, is said to be in good condition.
Tofowomo of the Peoples Democratic Party, escaped death as his vehicle was involved in a road accident on Ilesa-Akure Expressway in Igbara Oke, the headquarters of the Ifedore Local Government Area of the state.
The accident also involved a governorship aspirant of the PDP in the state, Mr Banji Okunomo, and two other members of the party, who were said to be on the journey with the senator.
They were said to have been rushed to the Trauma Centre, Ondo where they were receiving treatment.
A source, said nobody, died in the accident but the senator and other victims were injured but are in good conditions.
However, the media aide of the senator, Mr Olumide Akinrinlola, on Saturday told our correspondent on the telephone that the senator was responding to treatment at the hospital.
He stated that the senator and his companions were returning from Ibadan, Oyo State capital, where they attended a political programme organised by the state governor, Mr Seyi Makinde, when their vehicle had a head-on collision with a vehicle coming from the opposite direction
He said, “I want to say that there is no cause for alarm, the senator is in good condition, I just spoke with him (on Saturday evening), he is responding to treatment and I am very sure he would soon be discharged from hospital.”
Similarly, the Sector Commander of the Ondo State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Rotimi Adeleye, who visited the senator at hospital, on Saturday also confirmed that the senator was responding to treatment.
