The Mystery of Creation Part 7: Paradise and Hell Are Not Located In Heaven

It is essential to clarify that God’s dwelling place is in heaven, while paradise is a different realm altogether. Heaven and paradise are not synonymous.

Currently, the souls of the righteous are in paradise, not in heaven, while the souls of the unrighteous are in hell, rather than the lake of fire.

No one ascends to heaven until the sound of the Trumpet.

Paradise and hell are opposites, separated by a chasm, as detailed in the book of Luke (16:22-28).

Numerous scriptures affirm that hell is situated beneath the earth.

Let’s examine some biblical passages that illustrate that hell resides below the earth, not in heaven:

“But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.” (proverb 9:18)

“The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath”. (proverb 15:24)

“Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.”(Isaiah 14:15)

“Though they dig into hell, thence shall mine hand take them; though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down.” (Amos 9:2).

“If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. (psalm 139:8).

“It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? (Job 11:8).

For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell. (psalm 86:13).

These passages clearly establish that hell is located beneath the earth.

The term “pit” alone suggests that hell is not in heaven.

Additionally, in the book of John, chapter 3, verse 13, Jesus states that no one has ascended to heaven except for Him. This is a crucial point to consider.

The Bible recounts the story of the rich man and Lazarus in the book of Luke, where it is revealed that the rich man found himself in hell while Lazarus was in Abraham’s bosom (paradise). The scripture indicates that both could see each other but were unable to cross the gulf that separated them, suggesting they occupied neighboring realms.

This implies that hell and paradise are in close proximity beneath the earth. If they share a boundary, and the Bible confirms that hell is below, why would anyone assume that paradise is in heaven? Moreover, since Jesus stated that no one has ascended to heaven (John 3:13), what basis is there for doubt?

When Jesus died, the scriptures do not indicate that He ascended to heaven to defeat death. Rather, they state that He descended to the realm of the dead to conquer death, becoming the firstborn among the dead.

Before His crucifixion, He promised the thief on the cross that they would meet in paradise, not in heaven.

Thus, when Jesus died, He journeyed to paradise (the dwelling place of the saints) and to hell (the realm of the dead sinners) to fulfill His mission.

In conclusion, paradise and hell are not located in heaven.
