TCN says Ondo, Ekiti will be in darkness for 2 months, gives reasons

Ondo and Ekiti states will be in darkness for two months as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced plans to embark on critical maintenance work on the 132kV Akure Osogbo transmission line.

The TCN, in a public notice, said that the upgrade would disrupt the electricity supply to Ondo and Ekiti states between Monday 1 July and 31st of August 2024.

“Please be informed that the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, is scheduled to carry out critical maintenance work on the 132kV Akure Osogbo transmission line. The planned work involves the installation of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) and other activities.

“This will require outage on the affected network for safe working space,” the notice read in part.

It explained further that the affected areas will experience service interruptions during the period and apologised for any inconveniences it might cause the residents.
