Taraba Governor, Kefas Appoints 1,075 Aides in 24 Hours

Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has appointed 1,075 aides within 24 hours.

The new appointees will serve as special advisers, senior special assistants, special assistants, constituency special assistants, community special assistants, or members of boards, commissions, and agencies of the Taraba State government.

This was announced in a statement issued to newsmen and signed by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Chief Gebon Kataps.

These appointments are in addition to the previous 195 approved by the governor, who are yet to receive their portfolios. The total number of aides to the governor now stands at 1,270.

Governor Kefas also has 22 commissioners and had earlier appointed five special advisers with portfolios in his cabinet.

This surge in appointments comes amid calls for a reduction in the cost of governance. Opposition parties in the state have yet to respond to the latest developments.
