The Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has pledged its loyalty to a former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose and adopted chief Eddy Olafeso, and Bunmi Jenyo, the immediate past national vice chairman and secretary of PDP in the South-West for the positions of national vice chairman and zonal secretary respectively.
Starnews Nigeria reports that the Osun PDP made their position known on Wednesday at the residence of former governor Fayose in GRA, Ikeja, Lagos State.
In a unanimous statement signed by the leaders of the party and read by the State Secretary of PDP in Osun State, Bola Ajao, the leaders, State Executive’s officials, Local Government Party Chairmen and stakeholders of the party in Osun State resolved as follows:
- That the leadership of Osun State PDP was in Lagos to sympathize with His Excellency Ayo Fayose on the death of his sister.
- That the leadership of Osun State PDP congratulates his Excellency Ayo Fayose on his recent birthday and wish him long life and abundant prosperity.
- That we, Osun State PDP solidarise with His Excellency Ayo Fayose on the unity zoning formula for the South West Zonal Congress while we are also saying that we are with him and we will remain with him and with his leadership in the positioning of the party in the zone.
- It is also resolved that we will support and vote Dr Eddy Olafeso for the South-West Zonal Chairman at the Zonal Congress and our own Rev. Ogunjenyo as Zonal Secretary.
