Since you stepped down due to incapacitation, leave me alone, Akingboye fires at critics

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Aspirant from Okitipupa Local Government Area in Ondo State, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye, on Saturday fired at Engr Niyi Ogunwa Oboli and Barr Bimpe Olatemiju, asking them to leave him alone after they both stepped down for Dr. Eddy Olafeso, a governorship aspirant of the party ahead Ondo State Governorship election in October 10, this year.

In a statement on Saturday by his Media Aide, Oyeniyi Iwakun, Akingboye said that he does not hold anything against his brothers Oboli and Bimpe who have decided to sheath their swords of ambition for another person due to incapacitation or other reasons best known to them but advised them to leave his name and reputation out of their desperate attempts to cover their tracks.

He said: “Consequent upon rumour being peddled on the social and conventional media since Thursday, April 30, 2020, including a recent statement credited to Barrister Bimpe Olatemiju and Engr. Ogunwa Oboli that all gubernatorial aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from Okitipupa LGA have stepped down for Dr. Eddy Olafeso who is the current South West Chairman of the PDP, Otunba Bamidele Akingboye (OBA) has urged Campaign team members, supporters and the general public to disregard this concocted propaganda aimed at covering the tracks of some weaklings in the race.”

“Otunba Akingboye wishes to make it clear that he holds nothing against his brothers who have decided to sheath the swords of their ambition for another person due to incapacitation or other reasons best known to them but will advise them to leave his name and reputation out of their desperate attempts to cover their tracks.”

“Akingboye charges his followers to remain steadfast and intensify more efforts towards ensuring that he wins at the primary election.”

“He further implores everyone who is capable to obtain the nomination form to do so while others who cannot obtain it should queue behind,” the statement said.

Akingboye, thereafter, urged every well meaning members of the PDP and the public to join his campaign train as the journey towards a transformed Ondo State would be accomplished by him.
