The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command on Wednesday addressed claims that a recent sexual assault case involved a member of President Bola Tinubu’s family.
The police made it clear that the woman at the center of the case, Ebunoluwa Mitchell Fatoyinbo, has no family connection to the president’s son, Seyi Tinubu.
The case began after Fatoyinbo reported to the police that she was assaulted by a man named Oscar Ilochi.
According to her complaint, the incident took place while she was working out alone in the basement of a gym in Abuja.
The police have since begun looking into the matter, and part of their investigation includes checking the gym’s CCTV footage.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Command, Josephine Adeh, explained that the authorities are actively working on the case.
However, she also cleared the air on the public rumours making rounds on social media.
Some users had posted claims that Fatoyinbo is Seyi Tinubu’s sister, but the police say there is no proof to support that.
Adeh called on the public and the media to be careful about spreading false stories, especially during an active investigation.
She encouraged everyone to wait for verified updates from official police sources.
