Serie A: Napoli Speaks On Osimhen’s Transfer in January

Napoli sporting director, Mauro Meluso has dismissed any speculation Victor Osimhen will be leaving the club in January.

Osimhen has been linked with a move away from the Serie A champions following the recent row between him and the club.

The 22-year-old was irritated after the club posted two TikTok videos mocking him for missing a penalty in the 0-0 draw at Bologna.

Napoli on their part were angered after the striker returned from the recent international break injured.

Both parties are also yet to reach an agreement on a new contract prompting further speculations about Osimhen’s future.

Meluso however said there is no chance the Partenopei will allow the talismanic striker or any of their key player leave in January.

“No, no way. Absolutely not,” Meluso said when asked about top players like Osimhen leaving in January.

“Our squad is very good and we feel relaxed. Of course we can improve it but we will discuss this topic later.”

The Nigerian striker has scored six goals for Napoli this season.
