Senate To Halt Plenary for Two Weeks Over 2025 Budget Review

The Senate is set to take a two-week break from plenary starting January 14 to focus on the 2025 budget review.

As budget discussions shift to the committee level on January 7, preparations are underway to ensure detailed examination and input from stakeholders, including government agencies and other groups.

An open day for budget consideration is set for this Thursday, allowing wider contributions.

The tentative date for presenting the final budget report to both chambers of the National Assembly is January 31, 2025.

The Appropriation Committee, led by Senator Solomon Adeola, has provided hard copies of the budget to various committees for reference during discussions, Daily Post reports.

While the timeline is tight, efforts are being made to ensure a thorough review and timely submission.
