Senate Confirms Oluyede as Chief of Army Staff

The Senate has officially confirmed the appointment of Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede as the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

This approval came after the Senate reviewed and accepted the Army Committee’s report on his screening.

The report, presented by Sen. Abdulaziz Yar’adua, emphasized Oluyede’s qualifications, achievements, and experience.

According to the committee, Oluyede’s credentials align with the necessary constitutional and legal requirements for the role, including approval by the DSS.

The Senate’s confirmation marks the official appointment of Oluyede as the country’s top military officer.
