A former Senate President of Nigeria, Bukola Saraki has mourned the passing of Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’Adua, the mother of late President Musa Yar’Adua.
The news of her death was confirmed yesterday by Hamza Saulawa, a close friend of the Yar’Adua family, in a statement to Radio Nigeria.
He revealed that Hajiya Dada Yar’Adua died at her home in Katsina State after a prolonged illness.
She is survived by four children, including Senator Abdulazeez Musa Yar’Adua, who represents Katsina Central.
Her other surviving children are Suleiman Musa, Hajiya Hafsat Musa, and Habiba Musa Yar’Adua. The deceased also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Expressing his condolences, former Senate President Bukola Saraki paid tribute to her, saying: “Dada Habi Yar’Adua, the beloved mother of my dear friend and our late President, Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, was a true matriarch. Her warmth, grace, and compassion were boundless, extending to all who had the privilege of knowing her.”
“My last encounter with her in Katsina State is a memory I will always treasure—filled with her kindness and wisdom. It was a reminder of the remarkable person she was.”
