Lagos State Government has concluded plans to shut and divert traffic at Ilepo Bus Stop, along Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Alimosho Local Government Area, LGA, of the state.

According to Vanguard news, Engr. Abdulafiz Toriola, permanent secretary of the ministry of transportation, made this announcement on Wednesday.

The renovation, according to Toriola, was a part of efforts to alleviate the ongoing flooding issue at the Ilepo Bus Stop area.

According to Vanguard news, He stated that beginning on Friday, August 4, 2023, there will be a traffic diversion at the Kataguwa/Ilepo axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway for the installation of culverts.

Travel advisory

According to Toriola, “as a result, throughout the construction phase, vehicles will have access to the following other routes: Traffic from Iyana Ipaja towards Abule-Egba will be redirected to the BRT Lane from Iyana Ipaja.

“Traffic will be diverted to service lanes from Iyana Ipaja in the direction of Abule Egba and from Abule Egba in the direction of Iyana Ipaja.

Traffic from Abule-Egba will be detoured to the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT, lane in order to get to Iyana Ipaja.

He thus pleaded with drivers to exercise patience as the lane restriction is a necessary component of the traffic management strategy for the installation of drains across the Lagos-Abeokuta Motorway.
