Rivers Administrator Denies Fake Recruitment Announcement

Vice Admiral Ibokette Ibas, the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has denied rumours circulating on social media that he had approved the recruitment of 10,000 people into the state’s civil service.

The claims were found to be false and misleading.

The rumours suggested that applications for the supposed recruitment would open on Sunday, April 13, 2025, and were wrongly linked to the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika.

In response to these reports, Inyingi Brown, the acting Head of the Rivers State Civil Service, clarified that no such recruitment had been approved.

Brown further explained that any official announcements regarding civil service recruitment would come from the Rivers State Civil Service Commission and would not be posted on unofficial platforms.

He urged the public to disregard the fake information.

The civil service follows a transparent recruitment process, and any new developments about job openings will be communicated directly by the state’s official channels.
