Riches, Wealth And The Kingdom of Heaven By Pst Olumide Akinrinlola

”Any Pastor that preaches against the acquisition of wealth must never say he is representing God.

God is in the business of blessing people right from Adam, to Abraham even to Jesus Christ”, says Thomas Adeoye Akarakiri

I agreed totally with the submission of Mr Thomas because that’s the position of the Scripture.

2nd cor 8:9 says:

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes, he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

Just like the writer said, anyone who preaches against acquisition of wealth does not represent God. Though in exception of wealth acquisition through corruption and illicit means.

It is the truth that God does not want anyone to be poor including you. Poverty is not of God. My people should go and study the bliblical account of Adams – Jacob -Solomon and even Job. It’s obvious God wants His people to be rich. Even till now, nobody has ever surpassed the kind of blessings God bestowed on Solomon .

If you know anyone on earth who is richer than Solomon till date, I put it to you to challenge me to a strictest proof. The book of the 2nd Chronicle is not the book of the Law or Prophet. It is part of the book of History. Without yesterday, there will be no history and without history, there will be no future. Let me also add, that without history and a sense of the past, we may not have required sense.

I dare say that run away for any pastor or a supposed child of God who is attacking and condemning men of God for preaching about wealth and prosperity once a while. The work of the kingdom should be devoided of condemnation and judgment.

Jesus does not ask any pastor or preacher to be judging people and condemning them. Run from your pastor if all he knows is to condemn and judge others. I also advise you to run from anyone who loves poverty so much and want you to serve God in poverty because in his ignorance, he or she thinks that being poor is the license to make Heaven. Everyone cannot be rich but I tell you, Poverty is not the wish of God for us.

God does not give anyone the ministry to judge and to condemn others. John 3: 17 says: ”For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” We have responsibilities to preach the truth of the gospel but without judging others and condemning them. That should be left for God.

It is also the will of God for Mankind to be in good health and prosper in all they do. 2John 1:2 says: ”Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”

Don’t be deceived with the misinterpretation of Luke 6:24 which some preachers are using to mislead people about wealth. I felt irritated most times when I see them telling people that those who have wealth cannot make Heaven without the exception of children of God. Let me produce the verse and clearly explain what it means. The verse, Luke 6:24 reads: ”But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.”

This verse does not say that those God blessed cannot enter Heaven. It does not also mean that  the rich or wealthy men and women in Christ cannot enter Heaven.

This verse is the Lord’s warnings against the perilous temptations that wealth brings with it. You see! The Bible is not meant to be interpreted like the Novel. Those who have the Holy Spirit in them knows how to interpret this verse. Those interpreting the verse to mean that a rich man or woman cannot enter Heaven are doing so to the limitation of their understanding of the scripture.

And they also seem to be helpless as they are obviously not guided by the Holy Spirit in their interpretations. The truth about this verse of the Bible was reproduced afterwards in the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus in (Luke 16:19). The rich man received his consolation while on earth because he thought wealth was everything. The rich man would have escaped hell had it been he gave his life to Christ when Lazarus preached Christ to him. He would have made heaven despite his wealth if he had accepted Christ.

Don’t also be deceived by how some people are interpreting the book of Mathew 6:19-21 to stagnate you in poverty. The verse says: ”Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

This verse simply means when life is ended here, we will find endless treasure reserved in Heaven. It means the more we distribute for the blessing of others as guided by the Lord, the more wealth we lay up in Heaven. This verse is telling you and I that: treasures are to be held in subjection to God and used as He directs. It does not say God cannot bless people or that those blessed by God can’t make Heaven.

In those days, the Pharisees were very covetous and greedy. They don’t preach the truth and were not talking about salvation of Jesus Christ. They didn’t even believe that Jesus Christ died and resurrected for our salavation. They were known for storing wealth for themselves and families. The principal truth is that earthly things will decay one day and would be taken from us moment we die. We can’t take them to heaven but that does no mean that a child of God that is blessed by God cannot enter heaven.

It does not also mean that a child of God cannot have wealth so as for his or her Heaven not to close like some of these teachers are preaching. It is indeed difficult for rich people to make Heaven cos of the temptation attached to riches and wealth but it does mean God does not bless people with genuine riches and give genuine wealth to His own people. It does not also mean that any rich man or wealthy man cannot be and remain in Christ till death.

The book of 3rd John 1:2 and that 2nd cor 8:9 said it all. Decision to become poor or rich is in your hands. And not in the hands of any pastors or ministers who are supposed to be in training now but are busy making rumpus on on social media  thus attacking and condemning those who have riches and wealth especially some pastors who are genuinely rich and blessed by God. Nobody has the right to condemn others or judge them even if they have gone astray . We are to preach repentance to them and not to be attacking them always.
