Resign now, former Ondo Lawmaker tells Akeredolu over comments on Ajayi

Hon. Mike Omogbehin, a former member of the House of Representatives who represented Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency of Ondo State at the 8th Assembly, has asked Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to resign as the sitting governor of Ondo State.

Omogbehin called for Akeredolu resignation in a statement posted on his Facebook Page on Saturday, over an official interview programme on the state Radio, Sunshine 96.5fm, tagged ’Alalaye’ on Thursday.

The former Lawmaker described the radio interview where the governor allegedly made some un-gubernatorial vituperation against his Deputy, Hon Agboola Ajayi, as exposure of incompetence and the mistake made by the electorate four years ago to have elected Akeredolu as Ondo State governor.

Starnews Nigeria had reported on Friday that Governor Akeredolu reportedly made some claims on the state of governance, his relationship with his estranged deputy, Agboola Ajayi, and his predecessor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko which were described by Twitter users as false claims.

Reacting to this development, Omogbehin wrote: ”Your Excellency, Sir. You expect us to clap for you for telling us how much your Deputy earns as running grant without equally telling us how much you’re earning as running grant and security votes? Haba Gomina!”

”You shot yourself on the foot. Let me remind you, the oath of office was never taken for the fun of it. You’ve just betrayed your oath of secrecy, you must go all out to tell us how much you’re earning from this joint ticket.”

”Your Deputy is not your slave, he’s not even your staff, he’s on a joint ticket with you. He’s expected to resume your office immediately you’re for any reasons considered incapacitated to continue as a governor.”

”That radio interview was an exposure of incompetence and the mistake made last four years by us to have elected you as our governor.”

”Resign Now! We must preserve the exalted office of the governor of Ondo State”, Omogbehin said.
