PVC Now Required for APC Membership Registration —Chairman

Tosin Fatoki, the APC chairman for Alimosho Local Government Area in Lagos, has emphasized the importance of party members’ participation in the upcoming membership registration process.

According to NAN, Fatoki made the announcement on Friday during the APC local government meeting at Abati Primary School, Akowonjo. He explained that the registration is being introduced to address the discrepancy between the number of party members and the votes recorded in the area during the last general elections.

The chairman pointed out that many members lacked Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), and as a result, it will now be mandatory for members to present their PVCs before registering or validating their membership.

Sunday Aboyade, the APC vice chairman for Lagos-West Senatorial District, commended the unity among the various caucuses within the party in Alimosho. He noted that this unity marks a significant step toward restoring Alimosho’s winning streak.

Aboyade also urged local stakeholders to consider forming a committee to address any grievances that could arise among party members.

Idowu Anjola, the assistant welfare officer for APC in Lagos State, praised the party members for their solidarity. He stated that the party is awaiting election guidelines from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) to better plan its next steps.

Anjola further explained that the membership registration aims to ensure party members are eligible to vote, with PVCs serving as the determining factor for voters in the upcoming council elections.

“The Lagos APC is committed to improving its reward system to ensure dedicated members receive recognition for their efforts,” Anjola added. He also highlighted that the number of political officeholders from Alimosho is a reflection of the contributions made by party members in the last elections.
