Protesters set NCC office ablaze in Kano

Hundreds of protesters wearing face caps with the word “peace” inscribed on them have stormed the streets of Kano, chasing away protesters who were looting shops and other commercial places.

The ‘Peace’ protesters, in their green face caps, chanted “Mu yanci mukeso ba ruwan mu da kayan kowa,” meaning, “We need freedom from the government, we don’t want anybody’s properties.”

Earlier, as the protests took their toll, many places were looted and set ablaze, including the NCC office at State Road.

The NCC office, newly built, and ready for commissioning soon, was looted and set on fire.

One of the ‘Peace’ protesters told journalists they would do their best to stop the looting and destruction of innocent people’s properties.
