Propaganda of imaginary achievements will not help you, Olatemiju attacks Akeredolu

Barrister Bimpe Olatemiju, a constitutional lawyer, and governorship aspirant of Poeples Democratic Party in Ondo State, on Saturday, attacked governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, over his alleged comment on ”raw materials” while commissioning the Ondo-Linyi Industrial hub at Ore, Odigbo Local Government of Ondo State on February 25, 2020.

Olatimeju wrote: ”We read with rude shock and utter dismay, the governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu saying at the commissioning of the Ondo-lingo Industrial hub, that farmers benefit directly from supply of raw materials, and that the multiplier effects have stimulated logistics, hospitality, construction, banking and services in the economy of Ondo State and Nigeria at large”

”These comments from Mr Governor, are to say the least untrue and an insult to the intelligence of Ondo state people who have been at the receiving end of his government’s mismanagement in the last three years. Only recently, Zoom Reporters reported that Cassava, a major raw material used in the Ethanol Production Plant at the Industrial Park, are imported from Benue state despite Ondo state people cultivating more than enough to sustain the entire Southwestern Nigerians.”

”This and the Okitipupa Oil Palm Producing Company (if not deliberately neglected by Aketi) would have provided thousands of direct and indirect jobs to our youths.

”It has been three years since APC took over power in Ondo state and all they have done since assumption of office is complaining and whining, instead of providing good governance and fulfill electoral promises.”

”The people of Ondo state have never been so hungry in their entire lives. The shambolic state of the state’s economy within the three years of Akeredolu’s led administration which represents the worst in the state’s contemporary history, is a direct fallout of incompetence created by the inability of the Aketi-led government to chart a clear-cut economic policy, worsened by the plethora of unnecessary taxes, and high-handedness.”

”Since Arakunrin took over, the unemployment indices is a growing concern. Unlike other state governments such as Plateau, Bayelsa and Lagos, the Ondo state government hasn’t called for application into any of the major ministries. This is in addition to the halt in infrastructure development projects in most parts of the state with associated massive job loss, closure of auxiliary small scale businesses, low purchasing power of Ondo people, among other negativity that have bedevilled the economy, despite the much celebrated statement credited to Akeredolu that he would make Ondo State the economic hub of the Southwest by 2020.”

”The electorates are now wiser than in 2016. They cannot be hoodwinked by dirty politics of desperation and manipulation again. It is unbelievable and appalling that the APC spokesman considered payment of salaries of workers by Ondo state government as an achievement even when the workforce in the then state has significantly declined over the years without any serious employment to fill the gap.”

”If not for crass incompetence or a possible ulterior to subjugate the Ondo state people for selfish reasons, why would Aketi embark on propaganda of imaginary achievements? Where are the over 2000 water borehole sunk? With 203 political wards in the state, an average of 10 borehole should be seen in each ward. Where are they? Another audio project.”

”Finally, we state categorically that Nigerians are becoming tired and weary of the diversions and propaganda of creating imaginary achievements, dramatization of routine appointments, offering mundane excuses for crass incompetence and inflation of projects costs.”
