By Our Correspondent

In a move aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s agricultural sector, President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mr. Idris Ajimobi as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Livestock Development.

This appointment comes on the heels of the recent inauguration of the Presidential Committee on Implementation of Livestock Reforms and the establishment of a new Ministry of Livestock Development.

The President’s decision underscores his commitment to harnessing Nigeria’s agricultural potential, particularly in the animal husbandry ecosystem.

The goal is to spur sustainable economic growth, create new industries and job opportunities, and ultimately resolve the long-standing conflicts between farmers and herders.

Mr. Ajimobi is expected to play a crucial role in coordinating and liaising on matters related to livestock development, ensuring efficient management and implementation of reforms in this critical sector.

Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced the appointment, emphasizing the administration’s focus on driving economic growth through comprehensive agricultural development.
