The Nigerian Gospel music industry is in mourning following the death of a popular Ondo State-based Gospel artiste, Yemi Adeola.

Her passing was confirmed on Saturday by broadcaster Bisi Ajiboye, popularly known as Sogigun, on his Facebook page.

In his post, Ajiboye described the late singer as a “kind-hearted and beautiful soul,” noting that he had spoken with her just a week ago.

He wrote, “Yemi Adeola was kind-hearted, beautiful in and out. When we spoke last week you never said goodbye! In my experience over the years, I have never seen something shocking and sad like this in my life.”

The post, which has since gone viral, did not disclose the cause of her death.

Yemi Adeola was an evangelist and minister known for her inspiring and uplifting songs and performances.
