The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has confirmed the identity of the male body, initially mistaken for a female, whose body was found lifeless along Katampe – Mabushi express way on Thursday, August 8.
The operatives of the FCT Command who commenced a discreet investigation ordered by the FCT Commissioner of Police, Benneth C. Igweh, immediately after the individual was confirmed dead, revealed his identity in a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, on Wednesday, August 21.
The statement reads: “Sequel to a case of culpable homicide and discovery of an unidentified male corpse earlier mistaken for a female on August 8, 2024. The operatives of the FCT Command have begun a discreet investigation as ordered by the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni.
“Preliminary investigations revealed the deceased to be one Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, a ‘33’ year old man who hails from Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and resides at Dapé in Karmo Area of Abuja. The family of the deceased have also been contacted, as they are aiding the police with necessary information.
“Further development will be communicated in due course.”
The FCT police command had earlier on Thursday, August 8, confirmed the death of an individual who was a man fully dressed in female clothings with no means of identification on him.
