Police officer found dead inside apartment in FCT

An Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Musa Yakubu, attached to the Yaba Divisional Police Headquarters in Abaji Area Council of the FCT has been found dead inside his apartment.

A police source, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the incident to our reporter, saying the late officer died on Wednesday morning after he had closed from work.

He said the late police officer was healthy and hearty, until on Wednesday, when his lifeless body was found in his bedroom.

He said, “In fact, we were together with him at the division till late night of Tuesday but on Wednesday morning, we did not see at the division and we went to his house only to discover his lifeless body inside the room.”

City & Crime learnt that the deceased, who is a native of Gwargwada in Kuje Area Council, was among officers that were promoted to the rank of DSP by the Police Service Commission recently.

It was further gathered that the deceased lost his father last month, and traveled to Gwargwada to attend his father’s burial but returned to his duty post at the Yaba division recently.

The Agabe of Gwargwada -Ugbada, HRH Alhaji Hussain Agabi Man, confirmed the death of the police officer.

The spokeswoman for the FCT Police Command, SP Adeh Josephine, also confirmed the death of the deceased in reply to a text message sent to her on the incident.

She said the deceased, who served with the Yaba division, died in his apartment after a protracted illness last Tuesday.
