Police nab three suspects over Tricycle riders chair’s death

 

The Kwara State Police Command has announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the alleged murder of the chairman of the tricycle riders’ association, also known as Keke riders.

According to the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, the suspects were apprehended in Ilorin, the state capital, on Tuesday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Ibrahim Abdullahi from the Medina area of Ilorin, Ismaila Ajirerin aged 38 from Akata compound, Alore, Ilorin, and Adeola Adeosun aged 40 from Omo compound, Eruda, all residents of Ilorin, Kwara State.

The case was reported to the police on March 10, 2024, at approximately 10:00hrs.

“Mr Olarenwaju Saliman of Alore area, Ilorin, reported a disturbing incident involving his brother Mr Musibau Aliu at ‘G’ Division, Oloje area of Ilorin metropolis.

“According to Mr Saliman, his brother left home on March 8th, 2024, at around 17:00hrs, with his tricycle for commercial purposes and has since not returned home. Despite exhaustive efforts to trace him, including repeated calls to his phone number which were unanswered, Mr Aliu remained missing.

“On March 10, 2024, at about 13:30hrs, the command received information regarding the discovery of a headless corpse in an uncompleted building along Okolowo Expressway, by Daru-Salam Area.

“Upon arrival at the scene, a decomposing male corpse was found with its head, part of the buttocks, and both wrists severed. It was later confirmed by Mr. Saliman that the deceased was indeed his missing brother, Mr. Musibau Aliu.

“The deceased was identified as the Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Idiose Alore,” the PPRO said.

Ejire noted that the state police command, while sympathizing with the family of Mr. Musibau Aliu during this period of grief, remained committed to exhaustively pursuing the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
