Police Foil Criminal Syndicate in Imo, Lose Two Officers

The Imo State Police Command disrupted a notorious gang involved in kidnapping and armed robbery, neutralizing three members and arresting two suspects in Orogwe, Owerri West Local Government Area.

The operation, conducted by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, also led to the recovery of six AK-47 rifles, 131 rounds of ammunition, and stolen vehicles, including a Mercedes Benz ML 350 and a Hijet shuttle bus.

The gang was linked to the abduction of four individuals in November, during which valuables were stolen.

Unfortunately, two officers succumbed to injuries sustained during the confrontation.

The police have intensified security measures across the state to ensure safety during the festive season, urging residents to report suspicious activities to aid ongoing efforts against crime.
