Police arrest thieves for stealing generator, gas cylinder, bluetooth speaker

Two suspected thieves were arrested by Lagos State Police Command officers for allegedly burglarizing a shop in the Iju-Ishaga region, where they stole a generator, gas cylinder, and Bluetooth speaker.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, disclosed the arrests via his official social media platform on Sunday.

The suspects were apprehended by patrol officers from Oko-Oba Division during a routine stop and search operation while transporting the stolen goods in a mini-bus, locally known as Korope.

It read, “STOP-AND-SEARCH: At about 6:30am, patrol officers from Oko-Oba Division intercepted 24-year-old Adeyemi Ibrahim and 45-year-old Taiwo Adisa in a mini bus popularly known as Korope, with one generator, one gas cylinder and one Bluetooth speaker.

“Upon questioning, it turned out they just broke into a shop in the Iju-Ishaga area and stole the items,” he stated.

He noted that the shop owner has been contacted for return of the stolen items, adding that the suspects will be prosecuted.
