The Anambra State Police Command has arrested nine people suspected of being involved in the abduction and killing of Justice Azuka, a lawmaker representing Onitsha North 1 Constituency in the State House of Assembly.
Azuka was kidnapped on December 24, 2024, along Ugwunaobankpa Road in Inland Town, Onitsha.
His body was found on Thursday near the Second Niger Bridge, abandoned by the roadside.
The Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Itam, confirmed the discovery and stated that a security team searching for the lawmaker recovered his remains.
Acting on intelligence, officers tracked down and arrested nine suspects.
During the operation, police seized two pump-action guns.
One of the suspects was shot in the leg during a confrontation with security forces.

Chibuike Obiefuna (19)
Chinonso Olisa (19)
Chinedu Okoli (21)
David Ojini (25)
Peter Sunday (20), who has a tattoo on his chest that reads “No Peace 4 d Government.”
Azuka was kidnapped on Christmas Eve while heading home for the holidays.
His disappearance caused concern, and his death has left many in shock.
