Police Arrest Female Pastor, Three Other Suspects for Kidnapping

Operatives of the Nigerian Police in Delta State have arrested three suspected kidnappers including a female self-acclaimed pastor in Obiaruku area of the state.

The arrest of the suspects was confirmed by Bright Edafe who is the Police Public Relations Officer, Delta State Police Command in a post he shared on his Twitter account on Sunday evening.

According to him, the female “pastor” is the wife of the leader of the group who is at large and her duty in the group was to keep cooking for the kidnapped victims while in their net.

Edafe said the group kidnapped a woman and collected both cash and items worth over five million naira before releasing her.

His post reads, “The husband of the female suspect is the leader of the gang currently at large. They kidnapped the woman at the entrance of her house on 19/7/2023, and held her captive for 6 days, collected a ransom of #2,000,000 and other jewelleries worth #3,500,000 before releasing her. They were arrested on 4/8/2023. Effort to arrest those at large is ongoing.”

Meanwhile, from the blurred pictures attached to the post, cartridges and other materials were recovered from them.
