Police Arrest 19-Year-Old Boy for Burying Step-Brother Alive

Members of the Nigerian Police from the Kogi State Command apprehended Goodness Oshodi, a 19-year-old individual, for allegedly burying his step-brother, Friday Oshodi, alive.

The distressing event unfolded on Tuesday evening in Apamisede Community, Adavi local government area of the state. Fortunately, neighbors intervened and rescued the victim.

Reportedly, the step-mother instructed her eldest son to discipline Friday for allegedly stealing N10,000. Following this directive, the elder brother severely beat Friday before attempting to bury him alive.

Goodness, explaining his actions, stated that he merely followed his mother’s instructions to punish his brother for the alleged theft and attempted to escape with the money.

According to him, the mother, who instructed him to punish Friday, was away to church when he buried him alive.

The state police public relations officer, SP William Aya, who confirmed the incident, said the boy has been arrested and undergoing interrogation.

“Yes, we are aware. The boy has been arrested, investigation is ongoing as to why and how such a thing could happen,” he said.
