Police arraign two over stolen laptop

Two men, Blessing Ewa, 20, and Kazeem Afolabi, 30, have been brought before the Ebute Metta Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stealing a laptop.

 

PUNCH Metro gathered that the defendants broke into the apartment of one Stephanie Nonye to commit the act.

 

The defendants were arraigned before Magistrate O.O. Ikobayo on four counts of conspiracy and theft.

 

The prosecutor, Inspector Jimah Iseghede, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on February 4, 2022.

 

The charges read in part, “That you, Blessing Ewa, Kazeem Afolabi, and others now at large, on February 4, 2022, between 6pm and 7pm at No 118, Bornu Way, Ebute Metta, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did steal a Lenovo laptop valued at N700,000, being the property of Stephanie Nonye, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 287of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2015.”

The defendants pleaded not guilty.

The magistrate, Ikobayo, admitted them to bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties each in like sum.

She adjourned the case until March 31 for hearing.See
