PHOTOS: Sons and daughters gather as Halu of Aye celebrates 20 years on throne

It was celebration galore as sons and daughters from all walks of life gathered in Ode Aye, the Northern area of Ikale in Okitipupa local government of Ondo State to celebrate the 20 years coronation anniversary of the paramount ruler of Aye kingdom, Oba Williams Akinmusayo Akinlade, Uyi Oba 1, the Halu of Aye Kingdom.

It was an event filled with joy, happiness and laughter as prominent personalities from different parts of the country graced the beautiful occasion.

The event commenced with a thanksgiving service held on Sunday 12th May, 2024 at St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, Ode Aye. It was followed by a reception held at the palace of the Kabiyesi in Ode Aye.

During the thanksgiving service, the Uyi Oba 1, Halu of Aye Kingdom, Oba Williams Akinmusayo Akinlade, gave glory to God Almighty for keeping him safe and sound on the throne for the past 20 years.

The paramount ruler, in his thanksgiving speech, appreciated the Ondo State Government for elevating him to first class.He also appreciated the cordial relationship and support by his High Chiefs (Ijamas), Chiefs, and all other members of the Community.

Oba Akinlade, further appreciated Vice Admiral Aduwo (rtd), Sir Seinde Fadeni, and many other sons and daughters of the kingdom that have been making contributions to the development of the Kingdom since he became the king.

He stressed that their contributions in enhancing security of lives and properties, bursary awards to students in higher institutions, digging of functional boreholes, provision of street lights, road maintenance and many more, were highly commendable.

The royal father, thanked the leadership of the Federation of Ode Aye Development Association, (FOADA) led by its President, Chief Henry Olatujoye and P.R.O. Engr Femi Ayekomilogbon, for their doggedness in bringing development to the community.

The musician of the day, Chief Emaye Omolola captured the hearts of the attendees with his unique style of cultural music to the delight of everyone present at the occasion.

The event was beautified by the cultural display by many cultural groups at the event.

Among royal fathers present at the occasion were: Oba Michael Obatuga, the Jegun of Idepe – Okitipupa, Oba Thomas Oluwole Adesanyo, the Ahaba of Ajagba and others.

Former Chief of Naval Staff during the Shehu Shagari regime, Chief Akin Aduwo, was also in attendance as well as members of the Federation of Ode Aye Development Association,(FOADA).

Also present at the occasion were Tinuade Mabel Onaneye, the Erelu Oodua and Irawo Ooni of Yoruba. Others include Dr. Jide Adewinle, business men and women, high chiefs, and Chiefs in the community.
