Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, recently paid a visit to veteran journalist Donu Kogbara following her critical comments about him during an interview on Arise TV.

Kogbara, a columnist with Vanguard newspaper, had remarked during her conversation with Arise TV’s Charles Aniagolu that Obi’s political influence had significantly declined, describing his trajectory as moving “from top to bottom.”

In a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) page, Obi underscored the importance of listening and engaging with diverse perspectives as essential for leadership and personal growth.

“Having watched the interview with Donu Kogbara on Arise TV and considering the concerns she raised, I felt it was important to visit her,” Obi stated.

He continued: “As I have always maintained, leadership and personal growth are deeply tied to the ability to listen, learn, and engage with a variety of perspectives. I sincerely thank her for the warm reception and the productive discussion we had. These kinds of interactions enhance understanding and pave the way for constructive dialogue.”

The visit highlights Obi’s commitment to fostering open conversations and addressing criticism constructively.
