By Doris Israel Ijeoma

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to ensure that security agencies conduct themselves professionally in the
upcoming bye-election in Akoko North East/Akoko North West Federal Constituency.

The State Publicity Secretary, Kennedy Ikantu Peretei in a statement implored the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to guarantee a free, fair, and credible election.

The party expressed concerns over potential interference, urging that the people’s votes must be upheld, and any attempt to manipulate the election results will be strongly resisted.

PDP noted the ambitious maneuvers of certain elements within the government and emphasizes the importance of avoiding actions that may jeopardize the democratic fabric.

“These lazy politicians rather than meaningfully engage the electorates are again banking and shamelessly boasting on your support to skew the electoral process to their undue advantage.

It is against this background that, we make this appeal to allow all those that will be on duty for this election to discharge their responsibilities professionally in order to strengthen our democracy.”, the statement read.
